1. About Dabbobi
Dabbobi is an online marketplace operated by Kasuwa Integrated Services Limited (RC 9486525), 23 Palace Road, Oniru, Lagos, Nigeria ("Dabbobi", "we", "us"). It lets buyers, sellers ("merchants") and service providers find each other and trade livestock, animal feed, crops and agricultural services, with payments held in escrow and animals verified at delivery.
Dabbobi is not the seller of the items listed, unless a listing clearly says otherwise. The contract for each sale is between the buyer and the seller. We provide the platform, hold no title to the goods, and manage the escrow and dispute processes described below.
By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you open an account for a business, you confirm you are authorised to act for it.
- You must give accurate information, keep it up to date and verify your phone number. We may ask sellers and service providers for identity or business documents before they can trade or receive payouts.
- One account can be used to buy and to sell. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your login details secure and tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
3. Listings
If you list an item or service, you confirm that:
- you own it or are authorised to sell it, and it is not stolen or subject to any claim;
- the photos, description, category, age, condition, health information, location and price are accurate and not misleading;
- the photos show the actual animal or item being sold;
- for livestock that requires a muzzle scan, the scan was taken from the listed animal; and
- the item can be sold and moved lawfully, including under any animal health and movement rules that apply.
We may edit, hide or remove listings that break these terms or that we reasonably believe put buyers at risk.
4. Prohibited items and conduct
You must not list, buy or sell stolen or rustled animals; animals or products you know or suspect to be diseased or unsafe, except as the law allows; protected wildlife; or anything else that is illegal to sell in Nigeria. You must not:
- arrange to pay or be paid outside Dabbobi for an order agreed on Dabbobi, or ask a buyer to send money to a personal account;
- substitute a different animal for the one listed or tamper with a muzzle scan;
- create fake listings, orders, reviews or accounts, or manipulate prices or ratings; or
- harass, threaten or defraud other users or our team.
Payments made outside Dabbobi are not protected by escrow or our dispute process.
5. Orders
An order is placed when the buyer confirms it and pays, and accepted when the seller confirms it in the app. Once accepted, the seller must deliver what was listed, in the condition described, within the timeframe agreed. If the seller does not confirm an order within the time shown in the app, it is cancelled and the buyer's payment is returned.
6. Escrow and payments
- All payments are made through Dabbobi and processed by licensed payment partners, including Paystack. Dabbobi does not take deposits from the public.
- When a buyer pays, the funds are held in escrow and are not available to the seller.
- Escrow is released to the seller, less our fees, when delivery is verified as described in section 8 and the buyer confirms receipt, or when the confirmation period shown in the app ends without the buyer raising a dispute.
- While a dispute is open, the funds stay in escrow until it is resolved.
- Payouts go to the bank account verified on the seller's account. Payment partners' own terms and processing times also apply.
7. Fees
Creating an account is free. We charge a fee on completed orders, and may offer optional paid promotion for listings. All fees will be shown in the app before you place or accept an order. We will publish our fees before launch and give notice before changing them.
8. Muzzle-print verification
- For species we verify, the seller scans the animal's muzzle when listing it, and the animal is scanned again at handover. A match, together with the buyer's confirmation, verifies the delivery.
- Verification starts with cattle. For animals we do not yet verify, the order is still protected by escrow and the dispute process.
- A failed or uncertain match does not by itself end the order. The funds stay in escrow and the order is reviewed by our team, who may ask both sides for more scans, photos or information.
- Verification confirms that the delivered animal is the one listed. It does not certify the animal's health, weight, age or breed, which remain the seller's responsibility under section 3.
9. Delivery and handover
Delivery may be arranged by the seller, by the buyer collecting at an agreed point, or through a logistics partner booked on the platform once available. The buyer should inspect and scan the animal at handover. Risk in the animal or item passes to the buyer at handover, and ownership passes when escrow is released to the seller.
10. Disputes
- A buyer can raise a dispute in the app before confirming receipt, choosing damaged or spoiled, incomplete order, muzzle mismatch, not delivered, or another issue.
- Both sides must respond honestly and promptly and provide the evidence we ask for, such as photos, scans, messages and delivery records.
- Our team will review the case and decide how the escrowed funds are paid out: to the seller, back to the buyer, or split between them. We aim to decide fairly on the evidence available.
- Our decision settles how the escrowed funds are released. It does not take away any legal rights either side has against the other.
11. Cancellations and refunds
A buyer can cancel an order free of charge before the seller accepts it. After acceptance, cancellation needs both sides' agreement or a dispute decision. When a buyer is entitled to a refund, it is paid from escrow to the original payment method, subject to our payment partners' processing times.
12. Service providers
Logistics, storage, meat processing, farm labour and other service providers are independent businesses or individuals, not employees or agents of Dabbobi. They are responsible for providing their services safely, lawfully and as described, with any licences and insurance their work requires.
13. Messages and ratings
Keep in-app messages respectful and about the trade. We may review messages to investigate disputes, fraud or reports of abuse. Ratings and reviews must be honest and based on a real transaction.
14. Animal health and welfare
Sellers and service providers must care for animals humanely, transport them in suitable conditions with adequate water and rest, and comply with the animal health, movement and welfare rules that apply to them. Any claim that an animal is vaccinated, healthy or halal-slaughtered must be true.
15. Suspension and closure
You can close your account at any time once your open orders and disputes are settled. We may restrict, suspend or close an account, hold payouts while we investigate, or remove content, if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, put other users at risk, or acted fraudulently or unlawfully. Where we can, we will tell you why.
16. Our role and liability
- We work to keep Dabbobi available and secure, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or description of items and services listed by others, beyond the escrow, verification and dispute processes in these terms.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about an order is limited to the fees we earned from that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
- You agree to compensate us for losses caused by your breach of these terms or the law.
17. General
- Changes: we may update these terms. We will give you notice in the app before material changes take effect, and they will not apply to orders already placed.
- Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Before going to court, the parties will try to settle any dispute with us through good-faith discussion for 30 days. The courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
- Whole agreement: these terms, the privacy policy and anything shown to you in the app when you order form the whole agreement between you and us about the marketplace.
