1. Who we are
Dabbobi is a trading name of Kasuwa Integrated Services Limited, a company registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC 9486525, with its head office at 23 Palace Road, Oniru, Lagos, Nigeria ("Dabbobi", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
For anything about your personal data, contact our data protection contact at legal@dabbobi.com.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers:
- The website at dabbobi.com, including the waitlist, from today; and
- The Dabbobi app and marketplace, from when it launches. Sections that apply only to the app say so.
3. The data we collect
3.1 When you join the waitlist
- Your name, phone number, email address (optional), state, and whether you are joining as a buyer, seller, logistics partner or something else, with your own description if you choose "other".
- The fact and time of your consent.
- Your IP address, used only to stop automated abuse of the form. We never store it as-is: we keep a one-way hash of it, which expires after one hour and is then deleted automatically, normally within a few days. It is never linked to your waitlist record.
3.2 When you visit the website
- Technical data that your browser sends to any website, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, which our hosting provider processes to deliver the site.
- If, and only if, you accept analytics cookies: how you use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device type and how you arrived. See cookies and analytics.
3.3 When you contact us
Your name, contact details and the content of your message.
3.4 When you use the app (from launch)
- Account data: name, phone number, email address, password (stored only in encrypted form), business name, profile photo, language preference and whether you are buying, selling or both.
- Verification data: confirmation of your phone number and, where required to verify sellers or partners, identity or business documents.
- Listings: photos, descriptions, categories, prices and locations of what you sell.
- Animal identity data: muzzle images of listed animals and the patterns our model derives from them. These identify animals, not people, but they are linked to the listing and the seller's account.
- Orders and payments: what you buy or sell, amounts, escrow status and payout details. Card and bank payments are processed by our licensed payment partners; we do not store full card numbers.
- Delivery data: delivery addresses, handover details and delivery status.
- Messages and disputes: in-app chat messages between buyers and sellers, and anything you submit in a dispute, including photos and notes.
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, crash reports and how you use the app.
- Referrals: who referred you, if you joined through a referral.
4. How we use it, and our lawful basis
We only process personal data where the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives us a lawful basis.
| Purpose | Data | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Running the waitlist and contacting you about launch and onboarding | Waitlist data | Consent |
| Preventing spam and abuse of our forms | Hashed IP address | Legitimate interests |
| Understanding how the website is used | Analytics data | Consent |
| Replying to your messages | Contact data | Legitimate interests |
| Creating and running your account, listings and orders (app) | Account, listing, order and delivery data | Contract |
| Holding and releasing escrow payments (app) | Order and payment data | Contract |
| Verifying animals at delivery (app) | Animal identity data | Contract |
| Resolving disputes and preventing fraud (app) | Order, message and dispute data | Contract and legitimate interests |
| Keeping financial and tax records | Order and payment data | Legal obligation |
| Improving the app and our verification model (app) | Usage data and animal identity data | Legitimate interests |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
5. Muzzle verification and automated decisions
In the app, a model compares the muzzle scan taken at delivery with the one taken at listing. The result affects whether an escrow payment is released. Because that decision matters to you:
- a failed or uncertain match is never final on its own: it freezes the payment and sends the order to a person on our team for review; and
- you can ask for human review of any verification result, give your point of view and contest the outcome by contacting legal@dabbobi.com or using the dispute option in the app.
6. Who we share it with
- Payment partners, including Paystack and other licensed payment providers, to process and hold payments.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: Amazon Web Services (website, waitlist and email delivery) and Google Cloud (the app).
- Email provider: Zoho, which hosts our email inboxes.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- The other side of your order (app): buyers and sellers see the details needed to complete a trade, such as name, location and delivery details.
- Logistics partners (app), where you book transport through them: the pickup and delivery details they need.
- Authorities, where the law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and auditors, under a duty of confidentiality.
- A buyer or successor of our business, if it is sold or reorganised, under the same protections.
Our service providers may only use your data to provide their services to us.
7. Transfers outside Nigeria
Some of our providers store data outside Nigeria. Our website and waitlist run on Amazon Web Services in Ireland, and Google, Zoho and our payment partners may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal data outside Nigeria, we do so only as permitted by Part VIII of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, relying on the protection given by the destination country's law or on contractual safeguards with the provider.
8. How long we keep it
- Waitlist data: until 12 months after the app launches, or earlier if you ask us to delete it or withdraw your consent. If you open an account, it becomes part of your account data.
- Hashed IP addresses: expire after one hour and are deleted automatically, normally within a few days.
- Messages to us: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
- Account and order data (app): while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep transaction, tax and accounting records, or as needed to resolve disputes.
- Analytics data: 2 months, the retention period set in Google Analytics.
9. How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest with our providers, access is limited to the people who need it for their work, and our systems are designed so that payment card details never pass through us. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data in a way that risks your rights, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
10. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to:
- be informed about how we use your data (this policy);
- access a copy of your personal data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing before you withdrew it; and
- not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects you (see section 5).
To use any of these rights, email legal@dabbobi.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
11. Cookies and analytics
The website only sets analytics cookies if you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you reject them, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

Google's use of this data is described in Google's privacy policy.
12. Children
Dabbobi is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as Dabbobi grows, in particular when the app launches. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you before it takes effect.
